OWF Dumpling

Dumpling is an A2/A2 AJCA registered cow. She has had two calves (unassisted) and is currently bred to my painted A2/A2 registered polled mini Jersey bull, Beeson's Sure Shot Stoli

She is a relatively easy keeper and is kept on pasture and horse quality hay. I would not recommend her for someone with no cow experience. She has never been mean or aggressive, but she isn't a cow that will let you love on her. That said, she is very easy to deal with for someone who has some cow experience. I have hand and machine milked her after she calved and she never tried to kick me or do anything bad.

She was preg checked by my vet again on March 5th. Still pregnant and is approximately four months along putting her due date around August. Vet commented on her excellent body condition. Getting her in the barn was so easy - she literally just followed me in when I was carrying a bucket with some grain in it. I do think she could be trained to go right into the barn and then stanchion because she is very food motivated.

She has never had any health issues, no mastitis. All four quarters work as they should.

Dumpling is not currently in milk. When I did milk her, I calf shared and got approx 2 gallons/day with OAD milking while on pasture/horse quality hay.

Diva

Diva got her name because when she was a baby she was such a diva! However, she is no longer a diva and is the sweetest heifer. She is very easy to handle and walks fairly well in a halter. She is easy enough that she might work for someone with very little cow experience. Diva is very submissive so she doesn't do well in a big herd because she gets bullied and then won't eat the hay. I pulled her out of the herd and now she babysits the calves. She would be ideal for a small farm with 1-2 other cows.
